Demorest Law Presented Second Annual Seminar to Detroit Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau

The Demorest Law Firm partnered with Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau to host “HR Issues for the Hospitality Industry” seminar on November 9th, 2018. About 70 general managers, HR managers, and other hotel and restaurant employees attended the seminar held at the Best Western Renaissance in Southfield, MI. Our experienced attorneys helped local businesses in the restaurant and hospitality industry with issues such as:

  • Best practices for hiring, retaining, and disciplining employees
  • Americans with Disabilities Act and Family Medical Leave Act issues
  • Minimum wage and overtime issues
  • Tip pooling
  • Transgender issues

The seminar was presented by attorneys Mark Demorest, Charles Barnes, and Melissa LeDuc. This is the second consecutive year that Demorest Law Firm has presented a seminar for the DMCVB. The 2017 seminar addressed hospitality law issues.
