Michigan’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) is hosting several free seminars to help educate entrepreneurs on the options that are available in Michigan for raising capital.
LARA states in its invitation to the all-day seminar that the following topics will be covered:
- legal and structural basics
- key formation and other often overlooked issues
- private offerings using regulation D or intrastate exemptions (504/SCOR, 504/202(1)(n) and 201(g)
- Michigan intrastate crowdfunding
- Crafting a winning investor pitch
- Venture capital
- Long-term planning for a potential IPO
- Protecting yourself from arbitration, civil litigation and potential liability
Registration is open for the Lansing seminar that is scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 8am – 5pm. The seminar will also be coming to other cities throughout Michigan later in the year and next year. Registration for those events will open up six weeks in advance of the seminar.
