Demorest Law Firm, PLLC is pleased to announce that two of its attorneys have been selected by “Super Lawyers” for 2014. Super Lawyers has been selecting the top attorneys in Michigan since 2006. Only 5% of attorneys in Michigan are selected as “Super Lawyers” and 2.5% of attorneys in Michigan are selected as “Rising Stars.”
Managing Member Mark Demorest was selected as a Super Lawyer in the practice area of business law for the eighth year in a row. Associate Melissa Demorest LeDuc was named a Rising Star in business law for the fifth year in a row.
Mark Demorest graduated from the University of Michigan Law School, magna cum laude, in 1983. In law school, Mark was elected to the Order of the Coif; the top 10% of his law school class. Mark has been practicing law for 30 years and founded Demorest Law Firm, PLLC in 1998. Mark was recently selected as a Case Evaluator for the business court division of Wayne County Circuit Court and as an Oakland County Civil Mediator.
Mark also provides services as a mediator and arbitrator.
Melissa Demorest LeDuc focuses her practice on business formation, mergers and acquisitions, and other business transactions. She serves as outside general counsel for many small businesses, providing guidance in employment, real estate, contract, and other business matters. Melissa also has particular experience with woman-owned businesses. Melissa also leads the firm’s appellate practice. Melissa serves on the Board of Directors for the Dearborn Area Chamber of Commerce, and will be chair in 2015.
