iPad: Not Just For Games and Netflix

Last week I brought my iPad with me to the State Bar of Michigan Real Property Law Section’s Summer Conference. It was the first opportunity I had to use the iPad extensively for business purposes. Surprisingly, I found the iPad was extremely useful at my conference, as I was able to download all of the seminar materials on my iPad. I also was able to make my notes directly onto the seminar materials. Finally, I was able to download the 140 page agenda for a meeting I had to attend, and I used the iPad for following along with the agenda and taking meeting notes.

Although I wouldn’t recommend the iPad for content creation at an extensive level (although this blog entry was dictated, edited, and posted using only an iPad2), using it for meeting materials, to save paper and the hassle of carrying large meeting binders, was extremely helpful.

In a future entry, I will highlight several iPad apps that I think are useful in any business setting (not just for lawyers).
